Thank you for this post. I recently had a guest who asked for the moon with regard to exceptions to my policies. I gave in to some and declined others. From the moment I declined, despite bending over backwards to find a way to accommodate them, her tone was very cool and she eventually stopped responding - including to essential messages I was sending such as check in times and bag drop, etc. It was very awkward. As soon as things started to go south, I wanted to cancel the reservation as I was already anticipating a bad review. The guests just checked out today so now I'm waiting in anticipation for the review. Glad to have this info. on board for when it comes in. :)

Hey Tammi, thanks for your input. It seems like you couldn't have done more to please your guests, have you received their review yet?

I hope the guest cooled off when she arrived and had a great stay at your place! Look forward to your update :)

@jesslodgify I haven't submitted my review yet so I haven't seen hers. She DID write to me after her stay saying they had such a good time that it made them want to move to Seattle and would like to stay again when they come to house hunt. So I'm trying to decide if I'd want her as a guest again before I write her review and trying to write an honest review without burning a bridge in case I would want them back. Ah, hosting life. :)
