Can I turn my vacation rentals into a Pokéstop Stop, was my questions? Not yet is the answer but lets face it, its a monetiser extra-ordinaire, for now and could be quite interesting.

It brings a whole new meaning to the holiday experience. No more, "would you like to see a slideshow of my holiday" and more "Would you like to see my Pokemon holiday collection?".

What a weird and wonderful word which will no doubt spawn Pokemon free zones as people pay to not have them and heaven help everybody if the GPS satellite signal is weak (I assume thats how it works).

You can already send a request to turn your vacation rentals into Pokéstops but it'll be activated really soon.

We're pretty excited at Lodgify to see what they come up with!

This is a great article and filled with good ideas on how to differentiate yourself from other owners. It is a competitive market out there and it’s only going to get more competitive as the short-term vacation rental industry grows. Whether you are into Pokemon Go or not, I think this is a great idea to promote with your listing for the time being, especially if you're geared toward millennials. You could create a small guide (similar to your restaurant, or places to see guide) on where the best Pokemon hangouts are and where to catch a bunch of them at once. You can figure this out very quickly (there are Sub-Reddits for almost every major city) and it will only help your chances of landing more bookings. The Pokemon Go craze is here to stay for a while, so why not get some more bookings while it lasts?

Thank you Sean! Exactly, it is very competitive out there and vacation rental owners have to find the way to promote their listings and stand out from the crowd. It’s only going to get harder and harder, so we might as well try new things! And yeah, vacation rental businesses could look for the best Pokémons around their locations and even prepare a tour or guide for their guests.

We’re pretty excited to see if it works! I’ve already seen some listings on Airbnb that include Pokémon local tips, hopefully we start seeing them on their own websites too… :)
